The Change for the Future program takes the coins collected from our Sunday Offerings and distributes them to four different nonprofit groups each year. The congregation voted on which groups will participate in this program during 2021 at our Annual Meeting on January 31, 2021.
- March-May 2021: The ACLU of New Mexico protects and advances justice, liberty, and equity as guaranteed by the constitutions of New Mexico and the United States, especially focused on groups that have been historically disenfranchised.
- June-August 2021: The Brain Injury Alliance of New Mexico will use funds to pay for an Outreach Program Coordinator to respond to requests for assistance, organize volunteers, improve services and support, and stock and distribute brain injury survival toolkits.
- September-November 2021: The Read to Me Network will use funds to buy quality children’s books with a greater diversity in representation to donate to Albuquerque’s children. The new books will fill the gap left in donations due to the pandemic.
- December 2021-February 2022: La Plaza de Encuentro is improving digital integration and literacy during Covid-19 to include essential computer technology skills, access to technologies, and support services to strengthen our immigrant community.Change for the Future program donations can be made virtually as well: go to our Giving Page and designate “Change for the Future” as the recipient.
