Before joining the staff at First Unitarian, Warren served for 3 years as the COO/CFO at United Way of the Piedmont, based in Spartanburg, SC. Earlier in his career, he worked in the for-profit sector—serving in a variety of management, consulting, and senior executive roles for 37 years. Now, coming out of a brief retirement, Warren is excited about helping First Unitarian build a bridge to the future. In the past, Warren and his wife, Margaret, have attended services at several UU churches around the country—including Spartanburg, Chapel Hill (NC), Dallas, and Nashville. In July 2020, they moved to Albuquerque, and live here with their son, McGregor, and 4-year-old grandson, Jimmy. They also have a daughter, Katie, who lives in Hong Kong and works as a Chinese/English translator. Warren has an MBA in Finance from Vanderbilt University and a BA in English Literature from Wofford College. In his spare time, Warren has enjoyed participating in musical productions and is now working on a non-fiction book.
