Our New Associate Minister, Rev. Bob LaVallee

The Search Team and Angela are excited to announce that we have found our next Associate Minister!

Rev. Bob LaVallee (rhymes with “the valley”) was a standout from the beginning of the search process. The Search Team reviewed the ministerial packets of 20 applicants, interviewed seven online, brought the four most promising candidates to Albuquerque for weekend interviews… and unanimously selected Bob as our top pick. We could not be more delighted that he chose us, too.

Bob comes to us from Utah, where he has been serving as interim minister at South Valley UU. He has a warm presence and a great sense of humor. He is a veteran with rich life experience, including a background in nonprofit management and fundraising. He was a founding member of the Buffalo chapter of Standing Up for Racial Justice, and comes highly recommended for his dedication and skill in anti-oppression work. Bob is also committed to helping us create top-notch programming for kids.

You’ll get a chance to meet Bob in May. He’ll be here in person to meet and greet, and to make this all official by signing a Ministerial Letter of Agreement. Mark your calendar for Sunday, May 5, when Bob will lead us in his first worship service at First Unitarian. He will wrap up his work in Salt Lake City over the summer and start here on August 6.
