Join facilitator John Edwards for this 8 week class over Zoom exploring personal theological horizons and experimenting with creative theological imagination. Through study of the texts The Prophetic Imagination and The Unbearable Wholeness of Being: God, Evolution and the Power of Love we will wrestle with questions like:

  • What cannot yet be born because we haven’t yet imagined it?
  • If difference/alterity is the essence and outcome of the creation process, in what ways do we as individuals or communities resist difference, and in what ways do we nurture it?
  • What in the prophetic tradition can guide us and sustain us in our practice of reimagining and then remaking our community and world?
  • What roles do discomfort, grief, and pain play in transformation?

In addition to reading and discussion, we hope to build clarity about our particular gifts and skills by practicing creation through optional exercises like: “make something whether this is physical, musical, written, or even embodied.” The hope is to experience “incarnating” our gifts.
