2017-18 Pledge Drive

Now More Than Ever…

New Mexico needs a church like First Unitarian and First Unitarian needs your financial support. Since November of 2016, our church has experienced a surge in Sunday worship attendance, and many of these first-time visitors have elected to become new members. Perhaps this is not surprising to you. When the Ministerial Search Committee surveyed the congregation to assess our dreams and aspirations, we said that we wanted our church to be a liberal beacon of hope and justice in New Mexico. Now, more than ever, we need to fund this vision with our financial support.
In 2017, we sheltered homeless families through Family Promise; we gave out over 4,000 bags of groceries from our Food Pantry; volunteers provided ESL classes and after-school tutoring; and we spoke out on behalf of immigrant justice.
Our goals for 2018 include: funding a new Justice Coordinator, who will help strengthen our social justice work; nurturing the future leaders of our church by funding UU Kids Camp; increasing our Fair Share contribution to the denomination; looking after our beautiful widely-shared campus by setting-aside funds for maintenance and repairs; and providing our staff with cost-of-living increases.
To achieve all these goals, the board has set a fundraising target of $820,409. This is an increase of $67,709 (8.8%) over 2017. Will you consider making a financial pledge for the coming year? Now more than ever, you can help First Unitarian remain a liberal beacon of hope and justice. Every pledge helps us toward the goal.
Thank you for your generosity.
